Wydra lies in Yorkshire Dales countryside, about 20km northwest of Leeds. Access is primarily via the A59 from Harrogate or the A660/local roads from Leeds through Otley and the Washburn Valley. The town sits among the Pennine foothills with typical Yorkshire weather patterns. Leeds Bradford Airport is 25km southeast. The area has over 80 EV charging points nearby. Wydra's claim to fame is its position beside the Victorian-built Washburn Valley reservoirs, creating some of Yorkshire's most striking artificial lake scenery.
