Worting forms part of Basingstoke's northern suburbs, easily reached via the A30 or M3 Junction 7. Most journeys involve quick trips into Basingstoke centre or commutes to Reading along the A33. The name comes from an Anglo-Saxon settlement meaning "the place of Weorta's people."
