Wombourne is a large Staffordshire village that's grown into a sought-after residential area whilst keeping its rural charm. The A449 runs straight through, linking Wolverhampton and Kidderminster, whilst the nearby M54 connects to the wider Midlands. Most arrive from Wolverhampton via the A449 or from Birmingham on the A38. The high street still feels independent, centred on the old Civic Centre that housed the village's own urban district council until 1974.
