Wolsingham is a Weardale market town reached via the A689 from Bishop Auckland and the A1, about 20 miles east. Local routes include the B6296 north to the A68 and various dale roads connecting Frosterley and Stanhope. With around 50 EV chargers nearby and its position in the North Pennines AONB, it's popular with touring visitors. The Thursday market has run continuously since 1262.
