Wingate is a former mining village in County Durham, easily reached via the A19 between Newcastle and Middlesbrough. Take the B1281 exit for local access, or approach from the coast via the A1086 through Castle Eden. The area has approximately 150 EV charging points nearby. The preserved Pithead Baths building, now an auto parts shop, still displays its original colliery entrance railings.
