Whitehawk occupies elevated ground on Brighton's eastern fringe, just 2km from the city centre via the A259 coastal road or local routes through Wilson Avenue. Most visitors arrive along the seafront from Brighton Marina, whilst locals use Manor Hill for daily access. The area sits on former downland that once hosted England's earliest racecourses, now developed into mid-20th century housing with Channel views. Brighton City Airport operates right within the neighbourhood, making it one of Britain's few residential areas with an airfield practically on the doorstep.
