Whickham perches on high ground south of Newcastle, connected via the A692 to the A1 Western Bypass for long-distance routes and the B6317 for quick city access. This former pit village turned commuter town offers excellent transport links, with Newcastle Airport 15 miles away and over 350 EV charging points nearby. The medieval Front Street still follows the ancient packhorse route once used to transport coal to the Tyne.
