Wearhead lies at the head of Weardale in County Durham, reached via the A689 from Bishop Auckland through Stanhope. The B6277 from Middleton-in-Teesdale offers an alternative route, whilst the B6293 connects from Alston across challenging moorland terrain. This former lead mining village sits amongst dramatic Pennine scenery, with approximately 14 fast charging points available across the dale. The restored Killhope Lead Mining Museum features an impressive 34-foot Victorian waterwheel.
