Waskerley is a small Durham village on elevated moorland between Consett and the Pennines. Most visitors arrive via the A68 through Castleside, then take local roads west, or approach from Consett on minor roads. The journey from Newcastle takes about 45 minutes via the A692. Electric vehicle charging is available at roughly 50 points in nearby Consett and along main routes. The village's concrete reservoir dam, built in the 1960s, dominates the landscape as you approach from the east.
