Warland perches on the Pennine slopes between Lancashire and Yorkshire, reached via the A58 through Littleborough or local roads from the M62. The elevated position means cooler weather and lingering winter frost. Electric vehicle charging is available in nearby Rochdale and Littleborough. Roman road stones from the ancient Blackstone Edge route remain visible in the surrounding moorland.
