Walkhampton

Walkhampton is a small Dartmoor village in Devon, reached via the A386 through Yelverton. It's popular with walkers heading onto the moor and commuters to Plymouth (15km) or Tavistock (8km). The village sits at about 200 metres elevation where moorland meets gentler Devon countryside. St Mary's Church houses an exceptional 15th-century rood screen with carved figures that somehow survived the Reformation intact.
