Walkern is a quiet Hertfordshire village between Stevenage and Hertford, easily reached via the A602 and A1(M) from London or the A10 from Cambridge. Local routes serve daily commuters heading to Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City, whilst the M25 and A1(M) handle longer journeys. The 12th-century church houses a remarkable medieval brass of an armoured knight from 1370.
