Venton lies deep in Dartmoor National Park, just outside Widecombe in the Moor village. Reach it via the B3387 from Bovey Tracey, or take the A382 from Exeter then follow signs to Widecombe. The narrow moorland roads demand careful driving in Dartmoor's frequent mist and rain. About 20 fast EV chargers serve the wider area. The name derives from Old English "fenn," meaning marshland.
