Upware is a tiny fenland village beside the River Cam, about 15km northeast of Cambridge via the A10 and B1382. Most visitors arrive from Cambridge or Ely, using it as a quiet stopover on routes to Norfolk. The flat landscape offers endless skies and waterways typical of the Cambridgeshire Fens. The Five Miles from Anywhere pub sits right on Wicken Lode, claiming to be exactly five miles from any other establishment.
