Upper Marden is a South Downs village reached via the A286 from Chichester, about 8km north of the city. The A3 provides the main London connection, with the A272 offering east-west links through Hampshire and Sussex. With approximately 150 EV charging points nearby and typical downland weather, it's well-connected for modern travel. The 12th-century St Michael's church contains a rare surviving medieval wall painting of St Christopher.
