Upper Hellesdon forms part of Norwich's northwestern suburbs, reached via the A1067 Fakenham Road from the city centre or the A1024 from the A47 bypass. The area developed rapidly during the 1960s housing boom, replacing the original village with modern estates that became one of Norwich's first major suburban expansions.
