Twitchen lies in Devon's countryside between Exmoor and the Taw Valley, reached via country lanes from the A361. Most visitors come through North Molton from either Barnstaple (20km) or Tiverton (25km), whilst local traffic uses narrow lanes connecting nearby villages. The 13th-century church of St. Peter contains a rare medieval rood screen with original painted saint panels.
