Twechar is a former mining village in North Lanarkshire, positioned between Glasgow and Stirling in the Kelvin Valley. Most visitors arrive via the A803 from Glasgow through Kirkintilloch, whilst the M8 provides motorway access from Edinburgh. The village sits about 20 kilometres from Glasgow with good EV charging coverage nearby. The remarkable feature here is the Antonine Wall - Rome's northernmost frontier runs straight through the village centre, with visible earthworks and foundations still lining the main street.
