Turloughmore

Turloughmore sits about 25 kilometers northeast of Galway city in rolling countryside dotted with stone walls and farmhouses. The quickest route from Galway takes the N17 toward Tuam, then the R333 east through Claregalway before turning onto local roads. From Dublin, head west on the M6 to Athenry, then follow the N18 and local roads north. The village takes its name from the turloughs, temporary lakes that fill during wet spells and drain completely in dry periods, creating an unusual landscape that's influenced local farming for generations.
