Trefula lies in Cornwall's former mining heartland, 2 km from Redruth and surrounded by historic tin and copper communities. The A30 provides the main route, with the A3047 leading north through Redruth, whilst local roads connect the scattered mining villages via the B3298. The area's distinctive engine houses stand as monuments to the thousands of miners who once worked the deep shafts beneath these fields.
