Traquair lies in the Scottish Borders, 45km south of Edinburgh via the A72 through the Tweed Valley. Most visitors come from Edinburgh or Galashiels on day trips, whilst locals use the B709 from Innerleithen. The area has roughly 17 public fast chargers for electric vehicles. Traquair House claims to be Scotland's oldest continuously inhabited house, with Bear Gates sealed since 1745 awaiting a Stuart restoration.
