Towan Cross is a small Cornish village positioned between Porthtowan beach and Saint Agnes, reached via the B3285 from Redruth or the B3277 from the coast. It sits amid Cornwall's historic mining landscape, with preserved engine houses visible across the surrounding moorland. The village originated as a crossroads settlement, taking its name from an ancient stone cross that once marked the junction of old packhorse routes.
