Torloisk House occupies a remote spot on Mull's western shore in the Inner Hebrides. Reaching it requires the Oban-Craignure ferry followed by the A849 to Salen, then the B8073 and minor roads northwest - about 45 minutes' driving from the ferry terminal. The house sits overlooking the narrow sound to Ulva, a tiny tidal island served by an on-demand passenger ferry during daylight hours.
