Tone lies just outside Wellington in Somerset's gentle countryside, where the Blackdown Hills slope down toward the Somerset Levels. Access is via Junction 26 of the M5, then local roads through Wellington - about two miles from the town centre. The settlement connects easily to Taunton, Exeter, and Bristol via the M5, whilst local routes serve nearby villages like Runnington and Rockwell Green. The historic Tonedale Mills nearby once made Wellington a major textile centre.
