Templeogue sits in Dublin's southwestern suburbs between the city center and the Dublin Mountains foothills. The M50 motorway provides main access via Junction 12, while the R137 Templeogue Road runs straight into central Dublin about 8 kilometers away. The R114 connects to Rathfarnham and the mountain areas. It's handy for both city amenities and outdoor activities, with several golf courses including Powerscourt East and West nearby. The name comes from "Teach Molaga," after a 7th-century monastery that once stood here.
