Templeglantine sits in County Limerick's Golden Vale, about 35 kilometres southwest of Limerick city via the N21 through Adare. From Cork, take the N20 north to Charleville, then the R515 northwest for 45 kilometres. The R515 connects the town eastward to Newcastle West and westward toward Kerry. Electric vehicle drivers will find fast chargers in Newcastle West and along the N21. The town takes its name from a remarkable 12th-century church ruin, where weathered stone walls have stood for nearly 900 years among ancient yew trees.
