Tarbert
Ireland
Ireland
Tarbert is a small port town on the Shannon Estuary in Kerry, perfectly placed where Ireland's longest river meets the Atlantic. It sits on the N69 coastal road, about 60km from Limerick and 45km from Tralee, making it a handy stop on the Wild Atlantic Way. The big draw here is the Tarbert-Killimer ferry that'll get you across to Clare without the long drive through Limerick. The old Bridewell Courthouse is worth a look, where you can wander through the original prison cells and get a feel for the town's maritime past.
