Tallow sits along the River Blackwater in County Waterford, a handy stopping point between larger towns. The N72 connects it to Dungarvan on the coast and Fermoy in Cork, while the R666 offers a lovely route north to Cappoquin and the Knockmealdown Mountains. From Cork city, it's about 20 kilometers east of Fermoy on the N72, or roughly 25 kilometers inland from Dungarvan if you're coming from Waterford. The Blackwater Distillery is the town's main draw, where you can watch premium Irish whiskey being made in gleaming copper pot stills through glass walls.
