Swordale lies on Lewis's Point peninsula, just outside Stornoway via the A866. After taking the Ullapool ferry, it's a short drive northeast through typical Hebridean moorland. The settlement enjoys views across Broad Bay, where local fishing boats still work the traditional harbours.
