Swillington Common lies on Leeds' eastern edge, easily reached via the A63 from the city centre or Junction 46 off the M1. This quiet residential area sits between the major M1 and A1(M) corridors, making it a handy base for exploring West Yorkshire whilst avoiding central Leeds traffic. The old common land still shows patches of gorse and heather that turn brilliant yellow each spring.
