Sutton lies just northeast of Doncaster in former South Yorkshire coalfield country. The A638 connects it directly to Doncaster and the A1(M), whilst the nearby M18 and M62 provide links to Leeds, Sheffield, and Manchester. With over 90 public EV charging points locally, it serves both residents and passing motorists. The village's 14th-century St. Bartholomew's Church contains exceptional medieval wall paintings.
