Sutton perches on a peninsula between Howth Head and Ireland's Eye, offering grand views across Dublin Bay. The R105 coastal road from the city centre takes you there in about 15 kilometres, hugging the shoreline the whole way, or you can hop off the M1 at Junction 3 and cut across through Baldoyle. It's roughly 20 kilometres from Dublin Airport via the M1. Many visitors link it with the Howth Head drive for a proper coastal circuit. The Royal Dublin Golf Club here dates back to 1885 and boasts a links course that's hosted the Irish Open several times.
