Summerhill lies in County Meath, about 50 kilometres west of Dublin, where the Boyne Valley countryside meets the expanding commuter belt. Take the M4 to Junction 7, then the R148 through Maynooth to reach the town. It's handy for the golf courses at Carton House and Killeen Castle, with Weston Airport nearby adding the odd private jet overhead. The main street crosses a lovely old stone bridge, where you can still spot the original arches beneath the modern road surface.
