Struell lies just outside Downpatrick in County Down, famous for its ancient holy wells that have attracted pilgrims for over a millennium. Take the A25 from Downpatrick for the quickest route, or approach via the A7 from Belfast through Saintfield. The site features separate 18th-century bathing houses for men and women, built over springs that Saint Patrick supposedly blessed in the 5th century.
