Stretcholt lies in the Somerset Levels, that famously flat stretch of reclaimed marshland between Bridgwater and the coast. Access is via the A38 through Huntspill, connecting to M5 junction 22 within minutes for longer journeys to Bristol or Exeter. Local routes thread through Pawlett to Burnham-on-Sea or south toward Bridgwater. The village sits barely above sea level amongst the drainage channels and rhynes that define this ancient peat landscape.
