Straffan is a small County Kildare village about 30 kilometres west of Dublin, positioned along the River Liffey. The R403 connects directly to the M4 at Junction 7, making it a 40-minute drive from Dublin or accessible from nearby Celbridge, Maynooth, and Clane. The village is best known for the K Club, featuring two championship golf courses including the Palmer Course that hosted the 2006 Ryder Cup, where Europe thrashed the United States 18.5 to 9.5.
