Stout occupies the Somerset Levels, that distinctive flatland of drainage ditches and rich farmland in southwest England. The A303 runs just south of the city, making it a convenient stop for long-distance travellers bound for Devon and Cornwall, whilst the A372 connects to Bridgwater and the M5. With RNAS Yeovilton nearby, expect military traffic on local roads, and around 60 public EV charging points serve the wider area. The city sits within ancient peat bog landscape where archaeologists uncovered the Sweet Track, a 6,000-year-old wooden walkway amongst the oldest engineered roads on Earth.
