Stoney Stratton lies between Shepton Mallet and Glastonbury on the A37, making it a handy stop for those heading southwest from Bristol or up from Yeovil. Most visitors pass through en route to Glastonbury's attractions or continue toward the Devon and Cornwall coasts via connecting roads to the A303. The weekly cattle market every Thursday has run since 1850 and still brings a proper agricultural bustle to the town centre.
