Staupes sits in North Yorkshire countryside between the Dales and Harrogate, about 8km northwest of the spa town via the A59. Most visitors approach from the A1(M), whilst locals use the B6165 through Birstwith. The area has over 70 EV charging points, mainly concentrated in Harrogate. The nearby Victorian railway viaduct at Kettlesing remains a striking landmark despite the line's closure.
