Stamfordham is a historic Northumberland village 15 miles northwest of Newcastle, reached via the A696 through Ponteland. The village sits on elevated ground in the Tyne Valley, surrounded by rolling farmland and scattered woods. Most visitors come from Newcastle or via the A1, with Newcastle International Airport 12 miles east. The village centres on one of Northumberland's largest triangular greens, surrounded by stone cottages and dominated by medieval St. Mary's Church.
