Stalybridge

Stalybridge perches in the Pennine foothills where the River Tame winds between Greater Manchester and the Peak District. Reach it via Junction 23 of the M60, then the A635 through Ashton-under-Lyne, or take the A57 from Manchester for a more scenic route. The town sits on key trans-Pennine routes including the A628 Woodhead Pass toward Sheffield. Manchester Airport is 25 kilometres southwest. The Victorian railway viaduct from 1845 still towers 120 feet above the town centre on magnificent stone arches.
