Spittlegate forms part of Grantham's southern suburbs in Lincolnshire, sitting beside the A1 corridor. The A52 provides the main east-west link to Nottingham, whilst the A607 connects south to Leicester. Over 20 public EV charging points serve the area around Grantham's commercial zones. The name derives from "hospital gate," marking where a medieval spital once cared for Great North Road travellers.
