Sollas lies on North Uist's Atlantic coast, reached via the A865 from Lochmaddy ferry port 15km east. The road connects a chain of small townships facing Harris across the sound. About four EV charging points serve the area for those making the island crossing by electric car. At low tide, you can walk across Sollas Bay's sands to reach small offshore islands.
