Soham Cotes is a small fenland settlement reached via the A142, which connects to Ely 7km southwest and onward to the A10. Most journeys involve short hops to Ely or Soham for services, with longer trips heading to Cambridge 25km south. The flat agricultural landscape offers expansive views but can suffer from winter fog. The name derives from Old English, meaning the cottages of Soham.
