Skryne sits in County Meath, 45 kilometres northwest of Dublin in the Boyne Valley. Take the M3 to Junction 6, then R154 west through Dunshaughlin, or approach from Navan via the R153. The village makes a handy base for visiting Brú na Bóinne's Neolithic sites, Tayto Park, and championship golf courses at Killeen Castle and Knightsbrook. The Hill of Skryne rises 158 metres above the village, offering grand views across the valley from what was once an ancient royal seat mentioned in medieval Irish texts.
