Shulishader perches on Lewis's eastern coast, part of the Point peninsula's chain of crofting villages. Drive northeast from Stornoway on the A866 for about 15 kilometers, passing through Garrabost and Sheshader on this scenic single-track coastal route. The village overlooks a small natural harbour where stone fishing piers remain from its maritime past.
