Shrove sits on Donegal's Atlantic coast where the hills drop down to the sea, accessible via the N56 coastal route. It's about 280km from Dublin following the N4 to Sligo, then N15 north through Donegal town before joining the N56 west. From Belfast it's a more direct 200km run via the A5 to Omagh and then the N15 south. The town overlooks Shrove Bay where you'll still see fishermen launching their traditional canvas currachs, the same boats that have worked these waters for generations.
