Shorley lies in Hampshire's chalk downland between Winchester and Alresford, accessible via the A272 and winding country lanes through the South Downs National Park. Popular local routes include Winchester (15 minutes) and scenic New Alresford, whilst longer journeys connect to Southampton Airport (30 minutes via M3) and London via the A34 corridor. The village retains one of Hampshire's last traditional thatched bus shelters with a hand-painted timetable.
