Shipham perches on the western Mendips in North Somerset, about 15 miles from Bristol via the A38 through Churchill. The village sits on elevated ground with excellent views across the Somerset Levels. Most journeys are local runs to Churchill or longer trips to Bristol for work, with Bristol Airport 12 miles southeast. The area has over 100 EV charging points nearby. Shipham was once home to a major zinc mine that operated for more than a century.
