Shildon lies along the A6072 in County Durham, easily reached from Junction 58 of the A1(M). The A688 provides connections to Spennymoor whilst local routes serve Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe. With approximately 90 EV charging points nearby and excellent motorway links, it's well-positioned for modern travel. The town holds the distinction of being the terminus for the world's first passenger railway in 1825.
